youth program we developed for the Girl Scouts of the USA that focuses on community and family health.
Social entrepreneurs leverage their expertise when creating new programs. We brought our extensive experience of generating ideas, designing programs, and implementing strategies to the challenge of leading change. We have been, and still are, problem solvers.
We develop curriculum, deliver training, design programs, and launch initiatives that build capacity for youth and adults in all kinds of environments to become better thinkers and more effective doers. Our programs build on research-based learning strategies and integrate Web-based technologies when appropriate. We work with partners who share our mission, and who are focused on increasing community capacity in new ways.
The projects in our portfolio include programs and resources designed to meet important individual and community goals:
Local Agenda – Local Agenda is our signature program for the development of community change agents. Held in states around the country, Local Agenda is a 12- 16 week curriculum with workshops that move ordinary citizens into new roles... they become extraordinary change agents. Learn more...
Challenge and Change – We developed this comprehensive program for the Girl Scouts of the USA, customizing our Youth Agenda program for girls in rural communities around the U.S. Funded again by the USDA in the 2008 legislation, Challenge and Change is a program that delivers on the promise that our youth can lead us to a better future through new models of change. Fit's Inn – The Fit's Inn project is a national program we developed toward helping girls create healthier families and communities. We developed the program for the Girl Scouts of the USA. This national program includes video, resources, and projects to strengthen communities. Visit the Fit's Inn Web site!
The New Heroes – We developed the educational materials for Oregon Public Broadcasting to support The New Heroes documentary series, supported by the Skoll Foundation, to showcase the work of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs. The New Heroes learning materials can be found on the PBS Web site.
Room to Read, a nonprofit that builds schools, libraries, and computer centers in the world’s most under-served countries, asked us to develop educational content for their new initiative. Students Helping Students encourages young people to make a difference in the world by helping to spread the gift of literacy. Visit the Students Helping Students Web site to learn more.
Focus on Effectiveness – The Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory engaged us early on to leverage our curriculum writing and program development skills. We were asked to develop a new Web site resource for educators, combining research-based teaching strategies with technology for powerful new classroom projects.
