SPRINGBOARD NEWS

February 2010: Springboard Announces it's New Conference | ReVisioning Value (ReVV2010) to be held in Portland, OR on April 26 and 27.

We're pleased to be bringing a long list of expert speakers and topics to the NW from around the world to talk about how to move capital into the hands of those who will use it to improve the world. See ReVV2010 for details.

October 2009: Preparing the 1023 (held on 10/23!)

Starting a nonprofit is a time consuming project, frought with a maze of unclear and often mystical forms and legal questions to answer. To remove this barrier as best we can, Springboard holds our first annual workshop on how to complete the form. We have planned it for, (of course), October 23rd. Cindy Cumfer, a lawyer in Portland who has a long history of serving nonprofits, will be the facilitator for the full three hours, 9:00 a.m. to noon. Held at SOUK. If the time is now, grab this chance to learn. $100 per organizational team. Come prepared to dig in.

August 2009: We launch our new Web site.

Every five years one should move to a new house. Pack up the old and re-examine the new. How many rooms should we have? What will we need? What's changed? Our mission has remained the same, yet we have realized the need to strengthen our programming on every word of it. As we looked at what we have accomplished and what we have planned, a new Web site was needed. We want you to stretch out, explore the new rooms, and then, join us.

June 2009: Springboard selected for Willamette University's PACE program.

Every year graduate students in Willamette University's Atkins School of Management engage in a special program that puts them into the world of nonprofits to both learn and provide expertise. They become an integral part of the organization, learning what it is to manage a nonprofit. This fall one group will work with Springboard and its launchers, acting as a consulting team for planning, strategy, and marketing. We're delighted.

May 2009: Springboard presents to a delegation from China for MercyCorps.

Amy Pearl was asked to provide an evening activity and presentation about social innovation to a visiting delegation from China's All China Youth Federation. The entire experience was fascinating, hearing from other speakers and seeing the potential for social innovation in China.

May 2009: Springboard on a CNRG panel on social media.

Amy Pearl participated in a panel to discuss ways nonprofits can use social media. We shared strategies for the use of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and many other tools. Other panelists were from Idealist.org and The Bus Project.
